Hotels and Accommodation in Bora Bora (Society Islands)
LUXURY HOTELS
Luxury seems to be the goal of all the hotels in Bora Bora. And
there are some truly wonderful hotels. Here are our hotel recommendations:
Bora Bora Pearl Beach Resort
My personal favorite is the Bora Bora Pearl Beach Resort. I know
I am always mentioning the Pearl Beach Resorts, I just happen to
think they have done the best job of providing the most unique and
beautifully appointed hotels, while maintaining a truly authentic
Polynesian feel. Visit the Pearl Beach Resort Bora Bora and you
will see what I am talking about. The attention to detail is exquisite.
The resort is located on Motu Tevairoa providing a truly wonderful
view of Mt. Otemanu on the main island of Bora Bora. The overwater
bungalows have glass tabletops that allow you to see the fish below.
They even slide open allowing you to feed the fish. The garden bungalows
are incredibly spacious with wonderful outdoor showers in a private
tropical garden. You also get your own private pool and an outdoor
cabana. The Blue Nui Dive Center is located here.
MODERATE HOTELS
Novotel Bora Bora Beach Resort
The Novotel is different from the other hotels in that they have
no bungalows — only garden rooms and all are located in three
separate 2-story buildings on the mountain side of the island. But
I like this hotel for a few reasons. The rooms are nicely sized
and appointed. The restaurant and pool are located across the street
on the beach. They have used their prime beachfront property to
really maximize the the common spaces. There is a great on-site
dive center (Nemo World) and at night the hotel really tries to
entertain their guests with local musicians and dancers. This is
a great hotel for those looking for a moderate priced hotel with
many of the comforts of the more expensive resorts.
Hotel Matira
Also in the moderate price range is the Hotel Matira. It is located
just down the road from the Hotel Bora Bora and right next door
to the InterContinental on the Matira Point. The interiors of the
bungalows are done in beautiful woods with crisp white bedcovers.
The Hotel Matira is located on the main beach of Matira and conveniently
located near Bora Diving Center. The one odd thing
about the hotel is that the restaurant/bar is down the street from
the bungalows. Also note there is no a/c in these bungalows but
there are ceiling fans and mosquito nets which really do suffice.
This is the perfect place for those not wanting an “hotel
atmosphere.”

with gorgeous overwater bungalows and well-manicured garden bungalows.
