Hotels and Accommodations in Nuku Hiva (Marquesas Islands)

Though the island of Nuku Hiva is vast, the fact is there are very few places to stay. In fact there is only one hotel we recommend. Fortunately, we can recommend the only hotel on the island with the highest of confidence. I have recommended pensions in the past, but inconsistent service has forced me to forego all of the pensions.

The Nuku Hiva Keikahanui Pearl Lodge is a wonderful small hotel. This is another Pearl Resort property and as such, you can expect beautifully done bungalows utilizing local materials. The Marquesas are famous for producing some of the most talented wood carvers in the world and here you will find the added beauty of woodcarvings by local artisans incorporated into each of the bungalows.

The hotel is built on the side of the mountain and overlooks the bay and village of Taiohae. The black sand beach is located just 50 steps below.
