Raiatea Hawaiki Nui Hotel
The nicest hotel in Raiatea is the Raiatea Hawaiki Nui Hotel. It
is a great casual hotel located on the water's edge. Renovations
were completed in March 2003, placing the hotel in the category
of 3-stars. They have everything from garden rooms to overwater
bungalows. All 28 of the rooms/bungalows are quite spacious. The
hotel has a very good restaurant and is considered the best on the
island. They also have a pool overlooking the lagoon. The manager
Pierre is very attentive to his guests needs, taking special care
to make sure all are happy.
Divers will be quite happy to know the 3-masted wreck the Nordby
is just in front of the hotel. Jump straight off the pier and there
you are! The dive center Hemisphère-Sub
is based out of the hotel making your dive experience that much
more convenient.
PENSIONS
Sunset Beach
Sunset Beach is a casual pension consisting of 21 American style
wood bungalows. Located on the water's edge, they sit on a huge
coconut plantation - 24 acres large. All of the bungalows are equipped
with a kitchen and hot water. There is no restaurant at the pension.
However, they will provide breakfast upon request and they will
also be happy to bring you along when they are doing a run to the
market.
