Tikehau Pearl Beach Resort
The Tikehau Pearl Beach Resort lays on a secluded motu (islet) covered with white sand and swaying coconut trees. It is a short boat ride from the airport and here you will find a perfect little paradise. The beautifully appointed bungalows all have thatched roofs and are built with beautiful local materials such as woven palm leaves, bamboo etc. What I like about all the Pearl Beach Resorts is that they provide an environment that is perfectly appropriate to Tahiti and Her Islands. They provide first class accommodations and they are not at all pretentious. Newly built are the Overwater Suites which are truly spectacular.

The best dive club on the island, Blue Nui also happens to be located at the Pearl Beach Resort. Besides having all new equipment and wonderful instructors, I happen to like Blue Nui because they are the only dive operator with a large size catamaran that also has a top providing protection from the strong sun. Remember, all the dive sites are a 1/2-hour boat ride away so protection from the sun is greatly appreciated.

Aito Motel Colette
At the Aito Motel Colette you will find 5 thatched roof bungalows on a large and lovely white sand beach. Colette's husband Henere built all the bungalows himself and they have a very log cabin meets South Seas feel. The Aito Motel Colette also has kayaks available at no charge so you are free to explore the beautiful lagoon outside your front door.

In Tikehau, the most common accommodation is the pension. It is usually fashioned out of primitive woods and palm fronds. The pensions here are very simple - usually a bed, a cold shower and communal dining. There is however, one luxury hotel with overwater bungalows for those of you wanting a bit more pampering.
